Jump Start Package

The Jump Start Package is for high school freshmen and sophomores to begin the college conversation early and reduce some of the mystery and anxiety associated with the college application process. This package includes 4 customized, individual meetings covering the topics listed below.

HS graduation & college admissions requirements can differ. Plan your HS courses to align with your college goals. Taking rigorous courses like AP, honors & dual enrollment classes (in ways that make sense for you) will show admissions your commitment to learning & college readiness.

Course Planning & Transcript Review

The pandemic saw almost all colleges adopt a test-optional policy. Today, colleges are once again requiring the SAT/ACT. The decision to take the SAT or ACT and submit scores is highly individualized & personal. We don’t provide test prep, but we will discuss testing in depth & come up with a plan that is best for you.

Standardized Testing Plan

I provide surveys and questionnaires to capture your nature abilities and interests. This can help shine a light on potential college majors and maybe even careers. Your results will allow us to align your learning styles and college preferences with building your best-fit college list.

Discover & Explore Student Interests

Attending an information session & touring campus is one of the best ways to research a college. These official visits and college fairs are a great way to demonstrate to admissions that you are interested in attending. I’ll provide advice on what to look for, questions to ask and how to make the most of your time on campus or at a college fair.

College Fairs & Visits

How you spend your time outside of the classroom tells admissions how you will contribute to their campus community. HS freshmen & sophomores can explore different interests & then home in on those that are most appealing. We’ll discuss ways to show leadership and how to add volunteering & community service in ways that make sense.

Discuss Extracurricular & Summer Activities

There is a lot of confusion over financial aid - the different types, who is eligible and which colleges & states are most generous. By starting the financial aid conversation early, families can build a college list knowing what they can afford and what their student debt may be.

College Affordability

The cost of the Jump Start Package is $800. Students enrolled in this package will receive an $800 credit toward any Comprehensive Plan if enrolled by September 1st of their junior year.
